The Firefighter's Civil Service Commission was established by an Act of the Michigan State Legislature, a vote of the Citizens of Wyandotte, and a provision of the State Constitution to administer examinations for appointment and promotion of Firefighters in the City of Wyandotte. The Commission determines the qualifications that candidates for the fire service must meet in order to take tests, procures appropriate examinations and scores them, and produces eligibility lists of successful candidates. The Civil Service Commission is also given the authority to hold hearings in cases when Fire Service members have been accused and/or disciplined for misconduct.
