Spring is just around the corner,
April showers and May flowers. With that in mind. the City of
Wyandotte is taking a proactive approach to keep our City
beautiful. Beginning in April, the Wyandotte Police Department will
begin enforcement of the following City Ordinances to reflect our
pride in the city’s appearance.
Section 14-9: Accumulation of
garbage or filth
It is unlawful for
any person owning, renting, or occupying any building or private
premises in the city to permit the accumulation of filth, solid
waste, bulk items, or any other unsightly articles which may cause
an odor or public nuisance. Any wood storage must be organized and
be placed off the ground 18 inches, not to exceed the height at the
top of the fence, to prevent the harboring of rodents.
Section 14-32: Growth of noxious
weeds and tall grass
It shall be
unlawful for any person having control of any land, public or
private, occupied or vacant, to allow the growth of weeds or tall
grass exceeding twelve inches. The alley portion is also required
to be maintained by the owner of said property. This includes the
fence line and landscaping areas.
Section 14-33: Removal of weeds or
tall grass
If any owner,
lessee, tenant, occupant, agent, or any person having control of
said property allows the growth of weeds or tall grass in violation
of 14-32, the city may assign employees to remove the listed
violations. The cost shall be assessed to the owner/occupant for
this removal.
NOTE: Residents may be
issued a citation for the listed violation.
Section 35-46: Parking
Any vehicle parked
on public or private property must have valid license plates and be
operable. All vehicles must be parked on a hard surface, concrete
or blacktop. Vehicles parked on public property are required to be
driven and cannot sit as storage over 48 hours.
No more than two
(2) of the following vehicles may be parked and/or stored on
residential lots, and vehicles must be in the rear yard and must be
parked on a hard surface, not gravel. This surface must encompass
the width and length of said vehicle.

Recreational vehicles, including travel
trailers
2.
Non-recreation type vehicles
3.
Motor homes
4.
Boats and trailers
5.
Snowmobiles with trailers
The below listed
vehicles are prohibited from being parked on any public street or
residential property:

Semi-trucks
-
Buses
-
Cube trucks/van style vehicles
-
Stake trucks
-
Wreckers
-
Dump trucks
-
Other commercial type vehicles
that exceed 10,000 lb. gross vehicle weight rating
Any member of the
Wyandotte Police Department, Police Officers or Ordinance Officers,
have the authority to enter and inspect, at a reasonable time, any
premises upon which vehicles are being parked or stored. Violation
of the above-mentioned ordinances shall be cause for enforcement,
and may require the vehicle to be towed.
Towing is at the
owner’s expense. |
