Your New Solid Waste
Reference Guide

is pleased to announce that we are the new service provider in the City of Wyandotte for your residential solid waste & subscription services.

SOLID WASTE

Refuse cans, and/or bags should be placed at the curb NO LATER than 7:00 AM on your collection day. Refuse must be placed at the curb in a watertight container or a refuse bag that does not exceed 32-gallons in size and 50 lbs in weight.

BULKY ITEMS

Bulky items are anything you cannot place in a refuse container or bag, such as carpet (must be bundled, no more than 3ft in length and secured for one person to handle), water heaters, mattresses & box springs, furniture and large appliances. Please have all doors removed from refrigerators and other appliances prior to being placed out for collection.

UNACCEPTABLE MATERIALS
Republic will NOT collect the following (not limited to): hazardous materials; liquids of any kind; yard waste mixed with solid waste; whole tires; carbonated beverage containers (unless they are recyclable); dead animals; large auto/truck parts; stone/rock; dirt; large amounts of construction & demolition materials or any other material banned by state law.

WHAT AND HOW TO RECYCLE


GLASS BOTTLES & JARS
(Food & Beverage Containers Only) All colors. Rinse out; remove lids, labels are OK.
¨NO pyrex, window glass, ceramics, light bulbs, mirrors, or broken glass.


 

METAL FOOD & BEVERAGE CANS
¨Metal food and beverage cans;  also lids from glass bottles and jars.
¨Rinse clean; labels are okay. ¨Flatten if possible.


PLASTICS PET #1 & HDPE #2
¨Small mouth necked plastic bottles such as milk jugs, water jugs, laundry and hair bottles with a #1 or # 2 placed within the recycle arrows.
¨Rinse well; remove caps, labels are OK. ¨NO motor oil containers.


NEWSPAPERS & MAGAZINES

¨Place flat in a brown paper grocery bag only. 
¨Newspapers can include color comic sections and glossy inserts.
