Block parties shall not be permitted on designated fire routes and/or major thoroughfares. This includes, but is not limited to: Antoine, Emmons, Eureka, Ford Avenue, Goddard, Oak, Pennsylvania, Vinewood, 3rd, 6th, 10th, 12th and 20th Streets.

In order to receive approval for a block party, you must:

  1. Completed and sign a Block Party Application
  2. Submit the Block Party Petition, signed by 60% of property owners on the block.
  3. Submit appropriate fee with application and petition, including barricade deposit if necessary.
  4. Arrange for pick-up and drop-off of barricades (see information below).

Barricades will be delivered and picked up at the Applicant’s street during normal work hours for a fee of $50.00.
-OR- 
Barricades may be picked up and returned to the Department of Public Service by the applicant. Applicants that chose to pick up their own barricades must provide a $50.00 refundable deposit. Applicant must place the barricades to close the street before the onset of the block party. Applicant must agree to pick-up and return barricades from DPS between the hours of 8:00 am and 3:00 pm.
