PRESENTATION BY JODY L. CHANSUOLME DIRECTOR OF MUSEUMS AND THE WYANDOTTE CULTURAL AND HISTORICAL COMMISSION TO PHYLLIS GILBERT
HONORING HER 22 YEARS OF SERVICE

UNFINISHED BUSINESS:

PREVIOUS RESOLUTIONS RELATIVE TO THE FIRE CONSOLIDATION ISSUE

RESOLVED by the City Council that Council hereby receives and places on file the communication from Mayor DeSana dated January 10, 2007 relative to the possible development of a regional fire department. AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said communication be referred to the Director of Financial and Administrative Services, Fire Chief MacDonald and Fire Fighter Local union 356 for a review and report back to Council as to the impact the participation in the consolidation plan for fire services would have on the City of Wyandotte and its employees. AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Financial and Administrative Services be directed to coordinate a meeting with the Mayor, City Council and Plante & Moran relative to this issue as soon as possible. (Resolution dated January 22, 2007).

RESOLVED BY THE City Council that a Public Hearing shall be scheduled for February 26, 2007 at 6:00 p.m. at the Wyandotte City Council Chambers 3131 Biddle Avenue for the purpose of reviewing the Fire Consolidation feasibility study. Notice shall be provided on Wyandotte Cable. (Resolution dated February 12, 2007).


COMMUNICATIONS MISCELLANEOUS

1. Communication from State Senator Raymond E. Basham regarding the recently awarded Grant through the 2007 Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) Grant Program.

2. Communication from Beth DeJulian, Curves-Riverside, 134 Maple regarding the  Food Drive during the month of March to benefit local food banks. Curves will waive its normal service fee for any new member who brings in a bag of non-perishable groceries and joins Curves between March 1st and March 10th, 2007. 

3. Communication from Frank DeSana, Project manager for the newly renovated 2467-18th Street, Wyandotte Community Alliance non-profit project. Open house for public viewing on March 3rd and March 4th, 2007 from 1-3 pm both days.

4. Communication from Fred Mekolon Jr. Regatta Chairman regarding the Hebda Cup  Rowing Regatta on Saturday, April 28, 2007 and the Wyandotte High Schools Rowing Regatta on Friday and Saturday, May 4th and May 5th, 2007.

5. Communication from Donna J. Norton relative to the display of trophies and team pictures at the newly renovated Yack Arena.

6. Communication from the Guidance Center relative to the City of Wyandotte donating to the Annual Municipal Campaign to generate funds to assist our local residents.

7. Communication from Councilmember Sheri Sutherby-Fricke regarding the development of various properties in the downtown area, in particular, the  waterfront property between Oak and Elm Street, the Bank One building (now Chase Bank) at Biddle and Eureka, the former Wyandotte Theater property, the Department of Municipal Service building and the City Hall Building. 

8. Communication from the Downtown Development Executive Director, Director of Community Development, City Engineer and Director of Financial and  Administrative Services relative to a preferred developer agreement for  certain property  available in the downtown area.

9. Communication from the Community Development Director regarding Brownfield Plan #8-Vacant property at the southeast corner of Fort and Oak Street.

10. Communication from the Downtown Development Director submitting a contract for the Lions's Club Flea Market to be held on April 13th through April 15th, 2007 at the Yack Arena.

11. Communication from the Downtown Development Director regarding the Wyandotte Fishing Derby at Bishop Park from 10: 00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and the Annual Wyandotte Kids' Expo at Bishop Park from 12:00 to 4:00 p.m. to be held on June 2, 2007.

12. Communication from the City Engineer relative to a request from Municipal Service for a vacation of an alley.

13. Communication from the City Engineer and City Assessor submitting a purchase agreement for property within the City of Wyandotte.

14. Communication from the Planning and Rehabilitation Commission regarding the Phase I Preliminary Site plan approval for Labadie Park. 

15. Communication from the City Engineer regarding the purchase of property within the City of Wyandotte.

16. Communication from the City Engineer regarding the approval of the annual permit with Wayne County for various activities in the County right-of-way.

17. Communication from the City Engineer submitting an amendment to a purchase  agreement for property within the City of Wyandotte.

18. Communication from the City Engineer relative to a grant from the Michigan Department of Natural Resources for assistance in tree planting.

PETITIONS SUBMITTED BY HAZEL WOODRUFF AND PAM MONTELAURO AND OTHERS REQUESTING THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL MEMBERS TO REPAIR AND REOPEN THE LINCOLN MEMORIAL POOL BASED ON THE FACT THAT THE CITIZENS OF WYANDOTTE CONSTRUCTED THE POOL AS A MEMORIAL TO THE SERVICE MEN AND WOMEN OF WYANDOTTE WHO MADE THE ULTIMATE SACRIFICE FOR OUR NATION
